After a long weekend of competition UMG Atlanta is now complete and another successful event has been put together by the UMG Gaming crew. The event featured a 4v4, 2v2, and FFA tournament, with almost 100 teams competing in the 4v4 event alone. Friday night featured only the 2v2 and FFA event where Epsilon’s Parasite and CompLexity’s Crimsix were crowned the 2v2 Champions, along with PeaNuT being crowned the FFA Champion. The event ran long into the night on both Saturday and Sunday making this event a very enduring experience for many of the players. Although it seemed to make for some of the most exciting gameplay that I have yet to see so far this year. One of the most notable moments of the event was when Nifty made one of the most clutch plays I have ever witnessed to date in competitive Call of Duty.
SATURDAY
This play started the first of many upsets that began to happen in the fourth round and beyond in the winners bracket. Nifty’s play allowed IcoNs.ConqueR to beat EnVyUs for the second time in two events to push nV down into the loser’s bracket. Then FaZe lost to vVv gaming in a exciting best of three, where it came down to overtime, in the final map of Capture the Flag. While this was happening Curse had lost to RNX.Storm and Epsilon lost to the newly formed Team Kaliber. During all of this CompLexity continued to roll through the bracket beating Avert, HITM, and SoaR. Thus leaving a very formidable loser bracket consisting of very talented teams such as EnVyUs, FaZe, Curse, Epsilon, and SoaR for Sunday.
CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY
Sunday made for one of the most exciting road to the Championship in a tournament to date with many unexpected teams rising to the occasion and competing at very high levels. This included MRKN Gaming and vVv Gaming. Each of these teams had exceptional finishes on Sunday of 5-6th place. The most controversial moment of the event was when teams Epsilon and EnVyUs had to face of for a guaranteed top twelve or elimination match. It made for a very entertaining match of brutal trash talk coming from the side of Epsilon when they prevailed over former teammate Karma who had joined the EnVyUs squad before the event. This lead to Epsilon running into the the loser brackets finals to face off against Team Kaliber, but also defeating RNX.Storm, UNiTE, and MRKN along the way. Epsilon faced off in a intense battle against Team Kaliber where they were defeated in five games. Setting up for a championship match that many didn’t predict to occur. Sure enough though CompLexity was waiting to face off against Team Kaliber for the second time, for a rematch from earlier in the event.
FINALS
The Finals were fought very hard by both sides but Complexity prevailed in the tenth game of the eleven game series. Team Kaliber put up a very good fight against the compLexity team to comeback from a deficit of 3-1 to make it a 6-4 finish. The play of Theory, Neslo, Goonjar, and Sharp seemed to be very formidable in Search and Destroy but that alone wasn’t enough to beat the almighty compLexity. Kaliber had a very good tournament though beating teams TVA, Shock, Epsilon, Conquer, and MRKN in the road to the finals. The momentum of Clayster, TeePee, Crimsix, and Aches seems to be unstoppable at the moment with this being there third consecutive event win. This final once again proves that Search and Destroy alone will not defeat coL, you must be a force to reckoned with in all gametypes to ensure a win.

CONCLUSION
Although my predictions may of not been exactly correct with each teams placings. Due to the upsets provided by teams ConqueR, vVv, MRKN, and RNX.Storm. I still got six out of the Top 8 teams correct and still predicted the champions to be compLexity. This isn’t the first time I had predicted to coL to win a event this year. I had also predicted them to win CoD Champs earlier this year. It seems that it took coL some time to find the perfect fit when they picked up Clayster before MLG Anaheim to win it, then run away with Gfinity and now UMG Atlanta. It will be interesting to see how far coL can take there streak. As of right now the only other teams that has won any event, is the team known currently as Epsilon.Impact and OpTic Gaming when the first event of the season, UMG Chicago. They ended up totaling four consecutive event wins (including EGL) before being shut down by coL at MLG Anaheim. So my questions to you the reader, is how long will coL streak last? Who will take them down? Who do you think is the better team from this whole year Impact or coL?
