Battlefield Hardline BETA : Heist Strategy Guide

So, Battlefield Hardline has brought a new mode to the series. Similar to Rush from past Battlefield games one team has a limited amount of tickets (Criminals in this case) and the other infinite (Cops). Your job as a criminal in the beta is in under 15 minutes or 100 tickets is to steal two bags of cash at two separate drop points out of the total three. As a Cop your job of course either take the tickets of the Criminals down to 0 or if the lobby isn’t full enough, you’re looking at a 15 minute game of Heist if they don’t capture the objectives.

The Bank Job while is a pretty simple map will be our only look at Heist for Battlefield Hardline it however is an incredibly fun map and can have a few tricks to it. Ziplines in particular are quite possible the most key to this map and can allow you to make two of the harder caps much easier than they previously were if your team can work together that is. While having a buddy or 4 in squad will be immensely helpful setting up ziplines and providing cover all of the strategies mentioned here can be done alone but will just take a few seconds longer.

First off, most of your team will very likely be going straight towards the Vault Door as a Criminal and as a Cop. Very few players actually at the beginning of the game will head to the roof and restaurant entrances at the beginning of the match and both of those two are much more valuable to blow up than drill the vault door.

The Vault Door, Generally the worst place to go if you wish to stay alive for quite a few reasons. Mainly because it’s where most players end up going but as well because it is one giant choke point with very little cover. Most of your cover will come from teammates or metal bars that the enemy can shoot through. In both of those situations you generally will end up dead if you’re trying to setup the drill to open the vault door. There are a few things you can do however to help ease the tension on the vault door for your teammates however. First off if you have a hacker on your team he can activate a gas canister right above where the cops come into the main vault door room causing blurry vision and about 40 damage. While it’s easy to disrupt that many players don’t know they can shoot the gas canister to stop it and make the hacker have to reactivate it later. By far however the best tactic for stopping a cop push at beginning game is flanking through either the teller area or main lobby. Lobbing one frag in there could be enough to rack up 3-5 kills if there are many clustered around and Molotovs can be equally effective at pushing them back or into a corner while the drill timer counts down. One other method that while is effective at keeping bodys out of the vault door room, won’t keep bullets out is triggering the security doors in the security room on the criminal side of the vault door (to the left of screenshot). That will close the closest two entrances for the cops to walk in through.

Roof Entrance

The Roof, a key piece of breaking into the bank and getting the money out successfully, you’re able to take that air conditioner unit on the roof out and use it as a makeshift ramp to get back up to the roof once it’s firmly placed in the vault floor. Very useful for when the game picks A as a capture point early game can take home that loot within 2 min of starting game if little trouble is encountered. The Criminals have a safe and easy way up from their spawn to the roof by taking the fire escape up to the roof and then heading to the AC unit to plant charges. Be warned however the cops will be at that point at about the same time as you if some chose to go that way and they can come out one of two ways through a stairwell right next to the AC unit you need plant the charges next to. Once you get the charges armed your best bet is generally to wait above on the restaurant roof for anyone to come to disarm.

Once you blow the hole and get the loot you’re able to execute zipline strategies to all 3 points from the roof. Using the zipine to get to C I personally find a waste but it could save the day if your restaurant team got taken out and A isn’t an option. Between the map and the above video demonstrating the ways to get to A and B you should be set to take your loot home in a helicopter VIA the roof

The Restaurant, no heist is complete without a back door job! The restaurant serves as just that. However with the way the map is layed out as you start planting the charges to breach the wall as a Criminal the cops will be right behind you with your back turned. So for that reason unless you have a squad with you or even a few random guys pushing past the restaurant. If you’re alone and want to breach the Restaurant, you can still do it however I would recommend peeking around the side of the bank to see if anyone is coming before laying the charges or waiting inside behind some cover of the Restaurant. With that said, it is by far the fastest way to capture C from that back door at the beginning of the game. Even taking a package up to the roof and ziplining would be slower so if you can pull off that early cap you have the rest of your tickets to spend on the last package of cash at A or B.

A

The middle-ground of difficulty for capture points in the Bank Job map has a vehicle ramp up, two stairwells (one conveniently placed for each faction.), roof access VIA zipline and a hidden gem the elevator. If you happen to not be able to grab the zipline across or for some reason are unable to get to the roof to capture at A. The elevator is generally the next best bet. It’s placed in the back of the bottom floor of the garage under A. It will take you right up and also give your squad a chance to spawn on you to help cover once you’re at the top. The only time I’d recommend not doing this would be if the Cops already have the top floor and are for sure watching the elevator and even then it’s likely worth a chance to distract the Cops and allow your team to swarm from the other three entrances. If neither of those are an option take the stairs. Safe, easy and allows team to spawn in a safe(ish) enviorment, just don’t take too much time.

B

Very easily the hardest point to capture due to the fact the Cops spawn RIGHT there in the building behind. Also worth noting the Cops have a spot blocked off where Criminals cannot get to that is loved by Cop snipers everywhere however has a weakness, that being an RPG from the bank roof can clear it in one shot. Your best bet to get to B is generally from the bank roof with a zipline as a quick method of getting there hopefully before the Cops have forces swarmed around. If you find yourself stuck on B coming from one of the sides can also be effective. If you have team pushing from both with the support of snipers from the Bank roof and A roof you will find yourself in a powerful position but one thing is very key with this point. You CANNOT waste time or they will be right back in the fray of things with little to no run back time. If you find yourself low, make sure to make use of the metro to help your squad spawn on you as well, while you cannot capture from the metro you can be pretty safe down there though be careful they have a Cop only entrance to the metro as well.

C

From what I have found C is pretty easy to capture. It’s about equal distance from both spawns and is on a ground floor. Generally if your team is able to grab a package and get it out there they can capture it. It has a garden on the right side with tons of cover from the bank roof and Cop spawn as well as a inset wall to the left doing very much the same. Generally C will get capped every game that is any bit even. The Cops just generally don’t have enough time to get there if you hightail it out the back of the restaurant and into cover then make a sprint to attack the bag to the helicopter. If you’re having trouble with capturing C, try adding a few on the roof to give your guys some cover fire and take down a bunch of Cops.

I look forward to see what other tricks the Battlefield community will come up with this map, and I know they will but with all these tips you should be at the top of your Heist game from the start of the Battlefield Hardline Beta and onward into the full release. May the vaults forever be empty and your pockets full!
