WELOVEFINE.COM’S MARVEL VILLAINS DESIGN CONTEST

Los Angeles, CA, 06/01/12 — Fresh off of the Marvel Avengers contest, one of its most successful to date, WeLoveFine.com announces the launch of the Marvel Villains T-Shirt Design Contest. The call is out for artists to submit their best badguy designs, and WeLoveFine is thrilled to reveal that the first guest judge for this competition is one of the baddest and best of all – none other than The Avengers fan-beloved nemesis himself, Tom Hiddleston! Submissions are now open through June 22nd; fans can rate their favorite designs from July 6th – 27th, with the winners’ announcement to take place on August 9th at the Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con!
As the primary antagonist in the Avengers motion picture, Tom Hiddleston has become a hugely popular figure with fans of the film and the comics on which it’s based, both for his unforgettable portrayal of Loki and his rapport with the Marvel community. We’re absolutely thrilled to have him choosing one of our Judges’ Pick designs for this latest contest at WeLoveFine. We will also have another great choice forthcoming for our second judge’s slot; look for that announcement very soon.
Villains have always featured among the most popular shirts in our Marvel category at WeLoveFine, going all the way back to Dr. Doom on one of our earliest best-selling designs. Recently, Loki has taken the site by storm, taking the top slot in record time from our top-selling Avengers contest winning shirt. It seemed that the time had come to focus one of our contests solely on Marvel’s madmen (and women) We are excited to announce a list of over 170 approved characters for our Marvel Villains competition. The big guns are all here: Loki, Galactus, Magneto, Green Goblin, Dark Phoenix… but also Baron Blood, Carrion, Bolivar Trask, Lady Mastermind, Reaper… and so many more! Our contestants have a big playground to have fun in this time, and we cannot wait to see some terrific artwork featuring Marvel’s most evil.
ABOUT THE CONTEST
Holding out for a hero? Well then you are out of luck on this one. But it’s all good, because let’s face it: What would your favorite Marvel heroes be without the nefarious no-gooders who keep them on their toes?! This contest is all about the villains, the badguys who make merry mayhem in the Marvel Universe, and we want to see all of you talented artists out there join us for this competition. There is a huge list of characters to choose from this time, so think about whose evil ways inspire your imagination and show us the best you’ve got! You could win up to $2,500 in the grand prize, and the chance to have your design made into official Marvel merchandise! Get drawing, and may the BADDEST entry win – bad to the bone!
ABOUT OUR GUEST JUDGES
Tom Hiddleston is best-known to filmgoers and Marvel fans as Loki, the fan-favorite villain in Marvel Studios’ Thor and this summer’s blockbuster hit, The Avengers. Born in London, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and rose to prominence through a number of television and, more recently, major film appearances. Recent roles include F. Scott Fitzgerald in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris and Captain Nicholls in Steven Spielberg’s War Horse.
