Uploading through Xbox One to YouTube/Facebook will not be available at launch [UPDATED]

UPDATE: Microsoft confirmed today that uploading to other social media services will not launch until sometime “in 2014”. Not exactly the most specific date but one would hope it would be at least in the first half of next year.

In related news, it was also confirmed that the Xbox One will capture the last five minutes of footage in 720p, and at 30 FPS. The gameplay (which supports voice commands) can be edited, saved, and shared. Footage can ultimately land on Xbox Live so that other console users can view the content.

Last week it was announced that the PS4 will support capture devices via its HDMI output however the functionality will be patched in sometime after launch. Now Microsoft says that Xbox One owners will not be able to upload any footage to YouTube or Facebook through the built-in share feature. Players still will be able to share videos through Xbox Live for the time being though.

At launch, the PS4 will be able to share more through its on-board sharing capabilities while the the XBO will be able to use external capture cards. As long as each system gets patched to work 100% shortly after launch I doubt this will be a big issue.

Will this be a noticeable inconvenience for you? Don’t care because you have  a capture card? Share your thoughts below in the comments!
