Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that it’s upcoming release title, Titanfall, will not be cross-platform playable. Community manager Abbie Heppe confirmed the news to VideoGames.Com that Xbox One players will not be able to cross-platform play with Xbox 360 and PC players or vice-versa. Heppe goes on to say: “We will be able to offer dedicated servers on Xbox 360, Obviously… Xbox 360 players are not going to be playing with Xbox One players, they’re not going to be playing with PC; those will be separated groups.” This information can mean a lot of things for fans that are eager to play Titanfall. The fact that Heppe mentions separated groups leads me to believe further that a PS3 and PS4 version of Titanfall could possibly surface some time after it’s release on Xbox and PC. Some people have speculated that Titanfall will not be released at all on Sony’s consoles and that Microsoft holds all the cards to the franchise. That is not the case as Respawn still has not stated that its popular release title is exclusive to Microsoft, only that it’s concentration is for its release on Microsoft’s platforms. After all is said and done, I really hope Titanfall is successful and is playable for all gamers on all types of platforms.
