Last week Sony released their heavily anticipated next-generation gaming console: The PlayStation 4. With months of build up, reports of supply issues and an on-going battle for market share with Microsoft and Nintendo, all eyes have been on Sony this past week.
Well good news has come to Sony as the PlayStation 4 has official sold over 1 million units in North America within the first week. This number marks it as the most successful launch in PlayStation’s history, and gets the console off on the right foot sans some hardware failures along the way.
With the Xbox One launching this upcoming week, all eyes will be on Microsoft. With pre-order numbers rumored to be significantly lower than the PlayStation 4’s, it will be interesting to see how Microsoft counters Sony given a significantly lower number.
