NVIDIA has announced that it’s handheld Android-based gaming device entitled SHIELD will be ready and shipped on July 31st. It was originally set to ship on June 27th, but an unspecified mechanical issue caused a month long delay. SHIELD, which houses the new NVIDIA Tegra 4 system on its chip, is a console-style controller with an attached adjustable 5 inch touchscreen. It is set to run a stock version of Android. On the plus side it’s original price of $349 has now dropped to $299 so that may open up the possibility of more customers.
