Microsoft is working on its own game streaming service

Sources say that Microsoft is developing a new game streaming service that could allow Xbox One owners to stream their full-fledged console games to their PCs or to the Windows Phone. The service would be similar to Gaikai on PS4, and it appears to be working at least somewhat properly: The source says that Microsoft had Halo 4 streaming to Windows Phone with a latency of just about 45ms. Not ideal (especially for multiplayer gaming) but it’s clear that there is a lot of optimizing to come.

Microsoft is no stranger to the cloud for Windows and their mobile devices, this seems like a natural step for them. If they can bring game streaming to phones in a way that works it might be enough to challenge Sony’s remote functionality with the PS Vita.

What do you think, could this be a proper answer to Gaikai? Do you care about game streaming? Share your thoughts below in the comments!
