CoD Ghosts to make first competitive appearance at MLG Columbus…and MLG Orlando un-announced?

During the mulitplayer reveal yesterday for Call of Duty: Ghosts the Infinity Ward developers stressed on how they plan on keeping the support for competitive Call of Duty. They have high standards to cater though with the support Treyarch has provided to the competitive community for Black Ops 2. Although, announcing full support already by MLG and another CoD championship is a good start.

It seems that this push is already starting in a post preview interview by Machinima, Sundance DiGiovanni (MLG CEO) said, “Columbus is going to be really exciting because Columbus will be the first time you see COD Ghosts on the circuit.” You can find this statement in the video below around the last thirty seconds of the video.

There has been no formal announcement from MLG providing exact details to whether the event will be playing Ghosts or what system it will be played on, if true. It could be possible that the event could be held on the Xbox One on the assumption that it will be launched by them. This information is not confirmed, so stay tuned.

Also it appears that a picture has been found online from a “visit Orlando” site providing information for a MLG event in Orlando. This information is also not confirmed but could possibly be the last chance for Black Ops 2 to be played in a non-invitational event for MLG.
