AMAZON IS RUMORED TO LAUNCH ANDROID CONSOLE SOON

So in the lovely world of rumorville, Game Informer has reported Amazon, the multi billion dollar online giant, is reportedly developing and releasing an Android based console possibly as soon as Black Friday this year which falls on November 29th. That puts them right alongside the PS4 and Xbox One releases. Now I doubt that Amazon is trying to compete with those consoles but they definitely would be in competition with the Nvidia Shield and OUYA. According to TechCrunch, Amazon’s console could possibly be powered by a Qualcomm processor instead of Nvidia or AMD which would be a first in the game industry. Amazon already has it’s own tablet series called the Kindle and have their own downloadable apps as well through the google playstore. They have deals every week for a free app as well. I’m interested to see how this plays out. In my opinion, Amazon would have the upper hand given their name, ease of which to download apps and range to include package deals such as monitors or televisions. I guess we will find out if these rumors end up to be true.
