Pokemon X and Y MegaKangaskhan announced at 2013 Pokemon World Championships, and more.

This weekend was the 2013 Pokemon World Championships in Vancouver, Canada where the greatest Pokemon trading card and Nintendo 3DS/DS players converged to compete for the title of a being a world champion. Although much more was in store than just the competition, an announcement was made by the director of Pokemon X & Pokemon Y, Junichi Masuda from Game Freak.

MegaKangaskhan is a new addition to the already announced group of mega evolved pokemon, such as: MegaBlaziken, MegaAbsol, MegaMawile, MegaMewtwo, MegaLucario, and MegaAmphros. The Mega Evolutions happen from a the Pokemon’s respective Mega Stone being used mid-battle. Thus, allowing Kangaskhan’s infant to exit the pouch and join the fight. This allows players to attack twice during one turn with Kangaskhan’s special Parental Bond ability.

The other announcement was that 202 soundtrack songs from Pokemon X and Pokemon Y will be released on iTunes in November of this year. Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are set to release Oct. 12 for Nintendo 3DS.
