Sling TV app now available on Xbox One

Microsoft have announced that the Sling TV app is now available on Xbox One in the U.S., providing users with new ways to watch television on their console.

While also available on other platforms such as mobile devices, computers, smart TVs and set-top boxes, today’s Xbox launch marks Sling TV’s debut on a gaming console. On top of that, only Xbox members are able to try out the app for free with a 30-day trial.

With Sling TV, users can pay $20 a month to watch live and on-demand television from a variety of networks such as ESPN, TBS, Adult Swim, TNT and more, eliminating the need to subscribe to each network individually. The app utilizes some of Xbox One’s exclusive features, such as Snap, Pins and voice and gesture support using Kinect.

To coincide with the launch of the Sling TV app, a new Xbox One promotion is available at local Microsoft stores and the Microsoft Store website. Consumers who purchase an Xbox One console will receive a Sling TV subscription of three months for free.
