Microsoft has just confirmed the game’s that will be available for free in July with ‘Games with Gold’. If you don’t know what Games with Gold is, it’s an Xbox Live rewards programme which has been going on for some time now. Each month, Microsoft makes a selection of Xbox games free for those with an Xbox Live Gold subscription. As soon as you’ve purchased the game for free, it’s yours for keeps.
July marks two years since Games with Gold kicked off on Xbox 360, and to celebrate, Microsoft has promised that the offer will now begin to provide two free Xbox One games per month rather than one. This is of course already the case with Xbox 360 where one game is free for the first half of the month and another free for the second half. With this latest change, and with the console having racked up a large games library, hopefully it’s a sign of better free games being available for Xbox One.
For the whole of July, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be available for free on Xbox One. From July 16th to August 15th, So Many Me will also be available as a free download. As for Xbox 360’s free offerings, Plants vs. Zombies is available until July 15th and Gears of War 3 will finish the month from July 16th.
