PlayStation 4 outsells Xbox One by 47% in the UK

It’s been a month now since Sony released their heavily anticipated next-generation gaming console: The PlayStation 4. With months of build up, reports of supply issues and an on-going battle for market share with Microsoft and Nintendo, all eyes have been on Sony sales figures

Good news came early as the PlayStation 4 sold over 1 million units in North America within the first week marking it as the most successful launch in PlayStation’s history while getting the console off on the right foot sans some hardware failures along the way.

With the Xbox One’s international launch matching the North American sales of the PlayStation 4, all eyes were on Sony this past week in expectation of just how well the platform will move in the United Kingdom. Needless to say, the numbers did not disappoint as the PlayStation 4 has sold over 47% more units than the Xbox One at launch: 250,000 units in comparison to the Xbox One’s 170,000 units.

Likewise, the Xbox One had a stronger performance this past Friday during the “Black Friday Sales” within North America, as expected.

It’s also important to note that both platforms have exceeded the Wii U’s year to date sales in less than 24 hours within the UK market, a stark reminder that Nintendo needs to get their act together within the EU market place.

So whats your thoughts on Sony pushing these many units?
