Overgrown and Bog confirmed for Modern Warfare Remastered, 5 maps left to be announced

As announced this week, Raven Software are developing a remastered Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare which will be packaged with special editions of Infinity Ward’s upcoming Infinite Warfare. The remaster improves the game’s campaign and multiplayer modes through better graphics, a higher level of detail and more. For a comparison, check out our article here.

Other than graphical enhancements and the addition of dedicated servers, the remaster will keep much of the mechanics the same, such as guns, killstreaks and general gameplay. However, only 10 multiplayer maps will be included. We already know that fan-favourites like Crash, Crossfire and Backlot will be included, but a Forbes article also states that Overgrown and Bog will also be available. That leaves 5 remaining maps which will be announced at a later date.

“So what we did for multiplayer, for example, is we worked on the map Overgrown and we used that as our beautiful corner, our proof of concept of what we’re aspiring to get. And we worked on the foliage, we worked on the grass, we worked on the wind, the sky, the buildings, the textures. So much love went into crafting Overgrown and making it just an amazing experience, amazing visuals, that we then used that as kind of our temperature gauge on the other maps that we were working on.” – David Pellas, Raven Software studio director
