Mountain Dew promotion will provide Black Ops 3 players with Double XP in Zombies

Mountain Dew has today announced a new Black Ops 3 promotion which will be kicking off in October. Every year through its Doritos and Mountain Dew products, the company provides Call of Duty players with opportunities to receive some bonus in-game content such as Double XP. This year, however, it’s a little bit different.

Rather than receiving Double XP for multiplayer, it will instead apply to the new Zombies mode and its ‘Shadows of Evil’ map. It’s been known since the game’s announcement that Black Ops 3 Zombies will feature an XP progression system, although details such as unlockables are yet to be revealed. Through the ‘Fuel Up for Battle’ program, selected Mountain Dew and Doritos products will come packed with codes which will grant players with up to 30 minutes Double XP per day for use in Zombies, as well as other prizes to be announced. They’ve also announced two new Dew flavours; Game Fuel Citrus Cherry and Game Fuel Berry Lime.

Only available in the US, the program will not begin until October 5th. We imagine other similar partnerships will happen for other countries, so stay tuned.

“DEW and Doritos are excited to take the ‘Fuel Up for Battle’ program to a new level by giving gamers for the first time Double XP in Zombies mode. Gaming is in our brand’s DNA, and partnering with Doritos to bring one-of-a kind gaming promotions and exclusive opportunities to our fans is something we are very proud of.”Greg Lyons, vice president of marketing, Mountain Dew

“The DEW and Doritos ‘Fuel Up for Battle’ promotion is another example of PepsiCo’s strength in building integrated food and beverage marketing campaigns. We are delighted to engage consumers with exclusive experiences through our unmatched brands in combination with blockbuster video games.” Jeff Klein, vice president of marketing, Frito-Lay
