Microsoft moves 3 million Xbox One units to customers in 2013

As 2013 finally comes to a close, manufactures and retailers can finally pool together the sales data seen from late last years insane flood of new and exciting software and hardware. One of last years largest entries within the industry was Microsoft’s Xbox One, leading the charge with a global launch date in late November.

With that being said, it has come to fruition that the Xbox One has moved over 3 million units world wide by the end of 2013. The news comes from the official Xbox website:

Together, we ushered in a new era of games and entertainment with Xbox One. Over 3 million Xbox One consoles were sold to consumers in 13 countries before the end of 2013. It’s been incredible to see Xbox One selling at a record-setting pace for Xbox, and we were honored to see Xbox One become the fastest-selling console in the U.S. during our launch month in November. Since our launch, demand for Xbox One has been strong, selling out throughout the holidays at most retailers worldwide. We are continuing to work hard to deliver additional consoles to retailers as fast as possible.

Unfortunately, we won’t be getting any more sales information until the January 23rd earnings report. Either way, these are some phenomenal numbers and position the Xbox brand comfortably within its competition.
