2K Games has announced that the third title in the Mafia series, and the follow up to 2010’s Mafia II, will be revealed next week. An announcement trailer will be released at 5am PDT (8am EDT / 1pm BST) on Wednesday, August 5th. The game will be developed by Hangar 13 according to the game’s newly-launched website, a new development studio which was announced in December.
We’ll have to wait until next week for details on the game, but casting rumours that surfaced last year suggest that it will have some connection to a New Orleans setting. Gamescom also happens to take place next week, so stay tuned for all the latest gaming news and reveals.
