Fallout 4 DLC detailed, starts landing from next month

Bethesda has finally revealed information on the first few DLC packs for Fallout 4! The three announced today will be released between March and May and include a wide variety of content. Here’s the first three DLC packs announced today:

  • Automatron (March 2016): $9.99 USD | £7.99 GBP | $16.95 AUD
  • Wasteland Workshop (April 2016): $4.99 USD | £3.99 GBP | $7.95 AUD
  • Far Harbor (May 2016): $24.99 USD | £19.99 GBP | $39.95 AUD

“The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!” – Automatron

“With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixi tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!” – Wasteland Workshop

“A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.” – Far Harbor

That’s not all either! Bethesda promises that ‘more than $60 worth’ of new content and features will be arriving throughout the rest of the year. Due to an extended DLC schedule, the season pass price will increase from $29.99 to $49.99 on March 1st. Those who’ve already purchased the season pass will still receive the same content without being charged extra. Not yet bought it? You can still purchase it for the reduced price before March 1st! Users who’ve signed up to the Bethesda website may receive the chance to participate in a closed beta for the DLC, which will include the full content with no purchase necessary.

Last of all, free updates will still be provided, such as further optimizations to gameplay and quests. One of the biggest updates will be an overhaul of Survival Mode, changing how food, sleep, diseases, danger and more come into play. More details on this and the Creation Kit which allows players to create and play their own mods will be forthcoming.
