DriveClub pushed to early 2014, PS Plus bonuses updated

After Watch_Dogs was delayed into 2014, there have been rumblings of a possible delay for Sony’s previously-scheduled launch racer for the PS4. Now Sony has officially confirmed the rumor citing a need of more development time as the reason for the delay.

This is a blow to PS4 early adopters as Sony announced earlier this year that PS Plus subscribers would receive the digital version of the game for free.

In response, SCE President Shuhei Yoshida said on a blog post that

in addition to Resogun, I’m pleased to announce that Contrast, the highly anticipated game from Compulsion Games will also be available to PlayStation Plus members for free as part of Instant Game Collection.

We’re also offering members access to an exclusive “Open Weekend” trial of Killzone Shadow Fall multiplayer on December 28-29.

DriveClub is an ambitious, socially-connected racer that is certainly anticipated by a lot of gamers. Personally I’m fine with delays as they usually show a commitment to quality from the developers. Will the wait be worth it? We’ll find out early next year.

How does this news affect you? Was DriveClub one of the reasons you were buying a PS4 at launch? Are the reparations Sony is offering satisfactory to you? Share your thoughts below in the comments!
