Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has just revealed on Twitter that the PS4-exclusive Deep Down RPG will be released as a free-to-play game. This may come somewhat as a surprise as many expected the title to be a full-priced release.
It’s also been confirmed that a beta for the game will kick off close to the Japanese launch of the PlayStation 4 early in 2014.

This is certainly an interesting move, Deep Down appears to be incredibly ambitious with its dynamic online gameplay. If the final game ends up being anywhere near as impressive as its reveal trailer I don’t think there will be many PS4 owners who don’t at least try it out. Looking forward to the beta!
