During their Comic Con panel, Treyarch revealed a ton of new information for the upcoming Zombies mode in Black Ops 3. Since then, they’ve sent out some assets and a press release.
First of all, with the official information! The new Zombies mode is officially called Shadows of Evil and will take place in the 1940s (not the 30s as stated during the panel) where its story will link with Mob of the Dead. Players will take control of a set of characters voice acted by an all-star cast comprising of Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Neal McDonough, and Ron Perlman, while Robert Picardo will be the non-playable ‘Shadow Man’. The mode will feature a film-noir atmosphere and the characters (nicknamed The Magician, The Femme-Fatale, The Cop and The Boxer) will take part in an experience ‘masterminded’ by the Shadow Man.
Another announcement made by Treyarch was a competition which will allow players to be zombified into the game. By donating at least $10 before the end of August 31st, fans will be entered into the chance to visit Treyarch, play a Zombie in the game, and have their name immortalized in a Zombies level. All money will be donated to the Call of Duty Endowment and Activison will also be matching donations up to $1,000,000. More activities will take place throughout the week at Comic Con, including receiving an exclusive Mega Bloks Zombies figurine and a preview of the upcoming comic from Dark Horse Comics, as well as the possibility of going hands-on with multiplayer and taking part in the Escape Room Challenge (some preview pictures from Charlie Intel here). The game is set to arrive on November 6th with a beta pencilled in beginning August 19th on PlayStation 4.
