Astro A38 Bluetooth Wireless Headset Impressions

Having quality sound and comfort these days is key to a lot of people. From activities throughout the day, music seems to be the one medium that everyone can turn to in one way or another. No matter the task throughout the day, music just seems to make things flow better. This experience can be enhanced with the right product and Astro Gaming is headed on the right path on being the best product with the Astro A38.

First off, the package and case are on point. This has basically  become Astro’s signature stamp on products. Always a great design and packaging that just stands out with a sense of swagger from other products. The next thing you quickly notice is the simplicity of the headset. While being very comparable to the A30s in shape and size, the A38 still separate itself as its own product. Surprisingly the weight is light for what the product has to offer which leads to comfy wearing after long durations. The controls are placed to feel natural so you don’t have adapt to the controls on the ear cuffs. The design is flawless over all, even so well done I’m still shocked at the fact that people can hear me clearly while using the headsets mic.

I travel a lot and one the most annoying sounds are on an airplane. It’s either someone snoring or my seat is next to the jet engines and they can be heard throughout the flight. Both active noise cancelling (ANC) and passive noise cancelling architecture are present in the Astro A38, basically, I can’t hear ANYTHING but my music or movie. The Bluetooth 3.0 tech is on point with the distance you can go away from your device. I been found of using this headset on my desktop now just because of the comfort and fast connection with Bluetooth. Switching on the fly from devices is easy as well as I tend to switch from my laptop during a flight to my iPhone once I land.

Overall impressions are “ASTROnishing”, the concept is headed towards the right direction. This product is in Beta and I think this was a great move by Astro. Some feedback is the volume on the headset isn’t loud enough to some peoples liking and other minor things but nothing that’s a deal breaker as the headset is going to have its final product launched later this year. Not only is this going to be a great product for those that love to listen to music on the go but is versatile in the fact that it can be used at home, office and anywhere you might desire. Along with the great product direction with fixing things via feedback it also gives you the unique options to express yourself through the vintage Astro custom tags. All in all these bad boys not only perform but looks sexy on you as I’ve been stopped multiple times and asked what brand are the headsets I’m wearing.
